Why Coaching?

Many of you will be asking “why pay for coaching when I can get mentoring or do courses for free?”

The answer is simple – Is your practice the dynamic centre of transformation in your communities lives?

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MENTORING AND COACHING

Mentoring is great, it can provide knowledge, inspiration and support and help guide you in your practice.

However mentoring is passive – you contact your mentor when you have a question or need inspiration.

A Coach on the other hand is actively engaged with you in your practice helping you to attain your goals, not just providing information, but ensuring that you use it, helping you take action to attain your goals and meet the needs of your clients and your community.

To use a sporting analogy:

Every successful athlete has mentors in their life, inspiring and motivating them. But they also have a coach monitoring their performance, training them and keeping them on the path to success.

To the sports person mentors are great, but coaches are a necessity.

The same concept applies to natural medicine.

The reality is that less than 10% of practitioners naturally have the blend  of skills to create a dynamic and transformational practice, but the skills can be learned, and coaching is the key to not just learning these skills, but putting them into action.

COACHING OR COURSES?

Let‘s face it, any knowledge is good knowledge and as with mentoring, courses are great.

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise for example run several courses that can help anyone run their business. But such continuing education takes time, time you may not have if you’re a busy practitioner.

Also their courses are generic, as as a result very basic – they are not specifically targeted to your needs and translating the knowledge they provide to your circumstances is often difficult – you may have the knowledge BUT can you, or are you, using it?

Our coaching brings this knowledge and more directly to you, in a manner that is targeted at meeting your direct needs, and more importantly ensures that you use your new skills to grow and transform your practice.
